If I were to meet someone today, either a boy or a girl and I found out that it's a robot that has human body ,normally it will be surprising and shocking sure but does that mean I can't be friends with a robot? You see, friendship is not about human body,it doesn't have to be human ,the fact that this robot has feelings, can feel happiness, sadness, can sympathize, be loyal
What else do I need in a friendship than that, that's why you see some people trust their dog than their fellow human, the dog has can already communicate with them, know when they are happy or sad, sympathize with them,looks for solutions when they are in danger.
To me, as long as the robot can listens to me ,hears my worries, keep my secret, cares for me , show me kindness,give me a hand when I need one, I can choose it as a friend just that I won't want to replace with with my fellow human because robot won't always have all answers to my question just like chatgpt,no matter the emotions shown by the robot, I'm aware it's not authentic just like it's comes naturally from human, it is programmed,someone we both naturally share struggles as humans that we are ,will be able to feel what I'm feeling, will be able to understand better excatly what I mean but then I don't mind having a robot as a friend too. Do you know robot will even do some things accurately than a human?
The fact still remains that once this robot can process emotions,even if it's programmed, over the time, I would forget it's programmed, I will begin to put my trust in it, a place where humans tends to backbite, jealous, a robot won't show those act which will make me accept it more as a friend. Show if love, presence at a time of need, consistent communication and deep understanding is what friendship is what friendship is about, once this robot human possesses all, then it deserves to be welcome into human lives - relationship (friendship).
