This is a semi-rant!
Three rats have been disturbing me in this house. I'm scared of rats. I won't lie, almost every animal scares me. I can "oh, your dog is so cute" from a distance but up close, heavenly race is the goal. If you're outside with me, my reaction will embarrass you.
So, the rats, I tried to chase them away. Yunno, make them go back the way they came. The plan was to have them leave then seal wherever they crawled in from.
Fortunately, I managed to chase two. I've been leiving with the last man standing for over a week now. I can't wrap my head around why it didn't get out with the rest. Abi em de assume say we don become roommate?? My brother says it's probably feeling like a family member. E fit be.
I can't sleep in peace at all. One minute it's in the kitchen, maybe serving itself from the food I made. The next minute it's jumping over and around me. What was I even expecting, if it's my roommate, it probably assumes we're playmates. See finish things.
One time, I put rat poison at a corner for it, it probably saw me doing it and did not eat the trap and to show anger, the wsrey ate my bucket.
The one that's paining me the most right now is that it ate my plantain. My big ripe plantain!
Plantain I for fry for two of us. Tsk!
I woke up in the mid of the night and I heard it running around in the kitchen.
I went to open the door so it can see a means to run outside. Wasn't even up to five seconds that I opened the door another rat ran into the house. E sure me say na my "roommate partner." Omo! The anger I felt.
All my efforts to get them to run out failed. So like this, I'm sharing my room with two love-rats. E no go tey now they go born and I go become... Jeez!
This morning, I woke up to find out that they had eaten two of my onions.
Onions wey be gold now!
Onions that I bought six miserable small pieces for 500naira!
Kai! This is the last straw. I no fit again. The battle line has heen drawn.
It's either they kill me or i kill them.
So, to buy rat gum or to buy fuel and burn the kitchen?
Mature advice, plix!
Thanks for gracing this post.
