I wish I had a personal story to share concerning this topic, but I do not. From when I was young, I remember my mother never let us take things from anyone at all, not even letting us take matchstick if we had run out of some at home. So, I did not grow up asking for such help, especially not monetary, irrespective of how close we are or how pressing the need.
Or maybe, put in better terms, I've not found myself in that situation where I have to go for a loan. I think of that grooming from my mother as a mode of instilling contentment and in some way, discipline.

Contrary to popular opinion, I don't exactly consider taking loans as outright bad. After all, the motive behind it is to solve a problem. Where I think the issue arises is one's attitude towards repaying that loan.

Today, I was in a fix and needed to complete some money. This money had been given to me for keeps and I had for long, just let it lay In my account until I had a need and thought it wise to just take from it and replace later.

It was not a personal need. It was for a friend. Yeah, it was wrong to take from what wasn't mine to give to someone else. Thing was, I just couldn't sit back and let my friend go through the loss that he would if I didn't come through, when I could have.

My plan was to use some of my other money to complete what I took out until my friend was able to pay. Well, I was able to do that but sometime between last week, I've had so much expenses, I had to pull the money out-back.

Well, for this, you can say that I took a loan, on a friend's behalf.

Today, when I needed to pay back, I couldn't make up the amount from what I had as spare cash. Prior, I had been a little skeptical, hoping that the owner asks for the money when I had it in full but then, it didn't go as i hoped. I couldn't even call up any of the few persons that owed me some money cause i was bothered to not inconvenience them. It was too impromptu(in my opinion). Heck! Out of options, I called a couple people. It was one of the hardest things that I've ever had to do. Before the call, I took deep breaths and ran through other alternatives -so many times in my head- that would not require me.going to any one. I hated to do that but i needed to deliver on the money and not dent the trust the person who had given me the money to help safekeep had in me. Besides, this person's need was an emergency too.

Long story short, I was able to raise the money from my personal, tucked-away purse without having to loan from anyone. I promise you, the feeling was divine.

I do not particularly have the typical loan story that is shared commonly. Sadly, I have had my encounters with people whom I would give loans to and they would either not pay in time or just did not pay.
Regardless, I can't for other people's misgivings not be kind to those who are deserving. I just hope I never become debtor(a bad one, to be precise).

The good part about this loan lies in that asides me being able to give back the loan(albeit unsaid), I was able to help my friend who was in need.
That friend of mine would have lost his job if I hadn't stepped in when I did. He oversees a sector in the company headquarters where he works and some complications in numbers(as partains his sector) had occurred. Because it happened under his nose, being who was in charge, he took the fall. It was huge. It still is. But in that moment, what mattered was that we were able tp cushion the effect from the complications which we knew would have escalated badly.
So, i guess this counts as a good loan, yeah? I hope.

Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!
