Hello, Steemians!
Dreamers nowadays find it really difficult to convince the crowd around them that they have got what it takes to become successful and realize their goals.
Despite all the positive energy and the many motivational speakers and coaches that operate around the world to fill these dreamers with hope and incentive, it is not easy to shake off all those doubtful opinions.
Specifically, when it comes to making decisions for your life, most wise people around you cautiously advise you to have a ‘Plan B’ unless everything else falls down.
I know what you are thinking right now. I am not writing this blog post to dissuade you from thinking about a plan B.
But I want to lend some context to the idea of thinking about a secondary plan in case everything goes south on you.
Wisdom is the most important aspect of making decisions in life. The more wisdom and understanding you have of the world you inhabit, the more powerful and mature your decisions will turn out to be.
You should indeed have another plan in store. Life is unpredictable, and as hard as we find it to admit, life is often tragic.
Things do not work out the way you want. Plans fall out of order because of some incident, and etc.
So, it is much advised to think of another plan in case your original dream falls apart. But you should understand one thing about Plan B.
Plan B is also a message to your heart and mind. A message that indicates: I may not succeed! I may not succeed after all!
This is really dangerous when you think about it. There are some people who spend more time and energy on their Plan B rather than focusing on their main dream, merely out of fear and dread that everything might fall apart.
Over time, their Plan B becomes their main focus, because it is much easier to accomplish and maintain.
It is not wrong to have a backup plan, but it is wrong to doubt yourself. To ever doubt the idea that you are going to realize your dream.
Some people spend too much time on their Plan B that they could have focused on their original plan, which would in turn give them more chance at succeeding.
So, even if you choose to have a Plan B, do not focus on it. Think about Plan B as a simple concept that is a ‘possibility’ for you if everything goes wrong.
For example, a writer thinks that he can be a teacher if his writing aspirations fails and he comes to a situation where he needs the money.
That person doesn’t have to spend time and energy working on himself so that he can teach in the future. His ‘wisdom’ determines that ‘teaching’ is a ‘possibility’ for him. Nothing more!
Treat your dream with care and dedication. Do not second-guess or doubt yourself.
Grow your wisdom and understanding of the world, so that you can always think of other options (Plan B) but do not spend more time on the matter.
If you work hard enough and if you kill your doubts, then you will succeed and realize your dreams!
