Receive my greeting, friends of the Comedy Open Mic community, I bring a topic that has to do with the understanding of humor.

What does it mean to have good humor? Iginio began to ask himself, after being remarked once again: "you are very serious", "you can't play with yourself", "everything bothers you", these and many others he had accumulated throughout his life. Certainly, he did not understand the exaggerated laughter of many people in the face of events that caused him grief, anguish, displeasure and other sensations, but never laughter. Like when he bathed a chick with soap and shampoo, his mother had told him not to touch it because it had lice and he decided to clean it, the animal died and everyone laughed except Iginio.

He had been dating Estela for three weeks now, her self-confidence suited him well, it was like a personal imprint that made her nice and without many poses, like other girls he had met. He hadn't seen her since that incident: he was standing, talking with some friends at the university, when suddenly he fell on his face, almost fell, but regained his balance; she had arrived silently, stood behind him and with her knees hit him in the hocks, he almost fell; the laughter of the group was not long in coming, but he didn't find it funny at all. He looked at her in annoyance and without speaking to her, he walked away; she left behind him adding new slogans to her list of tags. Iginio ran fast.

It was something that had always happened to him, others did something that he did not celebrate and a series of complaints were unleashed, he did not want to live that with Estela, but he did not want to be the laughing stock either. He was tired of the nicknames he had been called because of his short stature and low weight. "Pajarito", as he was nicknamed at the high school, knew that if he objected more he would be teased, so he opted to stay quiet.

Apparently, to be humorous was to see the characteristics of others and compare him to an animal, was that being funny? He saw how everyone enjoyed those practices. He studied with the walrus, an overweight brunette; the parrot, a bow-legged boy; the squirrel, a young girl with a big mane of hair that she tied up in a tail, always sitting in the back so she wouldn't get chewing gum in her hair; the iguana was the math teacher who boasted a long double chin; and so the school fauna was creating nicknames and spreading laughter all over the place.

After the incident with Estela, that afternoon he had to go to the dry cleaner's and buy food, he decided for the latter; with the subject in mind, he chose what he needed, took it to the house and went out again, this time he left the umbrella. The sky was a deep blue without any clouds. In the sunshine a clown, microphone in hand, was advertising a business and handing out candy. Some children were afraid of him, others approached him; the clown handed out a candy with a smile painted on his face, more like a grimace. It is not possible to keep a smile on your face for long, so you have to draw it.

He then reflected on the power of laughter, he could even laugh out loud if someone proposes it, there are exercises for that, but it is still false, although they say that the brain is fooled. In those musings he was, when he realized that he had to run, an imminent downpour was starting to come off, he had removed the clothes from the dry cleaner and did not want to get them wet, he was soaked and the clothes protected with the plastic bag were not affected too much. So the rain also liked to play, because that's what it was all about: nature has the same sense of humor as many people who enjoy the tragedy of others.

Like those who enjoy seeing the child's head (who is already crying because of what awaits him) being stuck in his birthday cake. Why do I want to eat children's boogers in a cake? I definitely don't understand what humor is to others. There is a lot of incongruity in people: those who criticize him most for his seriousness treat people badly and play with sarcasm. Is that humor?

He came home and tried to watch TV, they were showing a movie where they were laughing at the sexual initiation of some young people, it would be "the first time" and everyone was making fun of the ungracefulness of the candidate. Then he remembered the "first time" of Lupita, a Chihuahua dog who was filmed in her happy encounter with a contemporary male named Alucinado; before two months Lupita gave birth to three puppies just like the neighbor's dog. Everyone laughed as if it were the best of jokes; not him, because he was the owner of the deceived male carrier, who did not see any offspring.

Humor is best when it is carried inside, tomorrow he will look for Estela and let what must happen happen happen.
