Very late arriving here. Tears rising. The sky was unfriendly. The man I hope is still awaiting my arrival, has left. All I see is empty land. A goat bleated, touched a banana leaf whose fragrance was frail and stretched out. I circled my eyes to the field of rice fields in front of me. All looked yellow. The grains of rice seemed to be pregnant. I was only a few minutes away. But, he can not wait for my arrival, until he left this place. He is my sweetheart. We have promised to meet you here. I want to see this vast expanse of rice and everything here is a silent witness to our inexhaustible journey of love. I sat in a small hut in the middle of a sawa, dangling a foot on a wooden stump.

An hour has passed, I'm still waiting here. Hope he comes back to see me. But that hope was gone. I saw he was engrossed in making love with another woman on a motorbike he used to drive and pick me up. My heart ached, my head was hot as if it would break. I am like the sea water that will overflow. I can not speak. I fell out of my seat. Grains of tears slowly fall down my cheeks. Like a fire eating straw. My heart shattered into pieces. The man I originally thought of as my last love port turned out to be a useless waste. He has destroyed our sacred love. He gave love a black stain on this long journey. The love I give him back with contempt. The rice I eat now feels husk. The water I drink feels like a thorn. What a cruel man!

From then on I did not want to see her anymore. My affection has now turned into a deep hatred. This incident made me afraid to make love again. I do not want to recur again. This bitter event will always dwell in my heart. Quite enough I feel the failure of love. Will not be repeated a second time in my life. The hurt that I feel now has blinded my eyes. I will close this door of the heart and no one will be able to open it again.
