Meet Suhasini. One of my best buddies. Like this photo, she takes all the focus and fades other things around her. like every other kid, she has a kind heart. But she does special things.
She has a rare thing in her persona that she smiles all day in front of everyone no matter what, then she comes to me at night before she goes to sleep and shares how good/bad her day went so far. She might have a bad day but she keeps on smiling. At the end of the day, she expresses herself to me. Sometimes she cries because she didn't have a great day and sometimes she feels energetic and excited while telling me about her day. That's a great experience when I get to see the world from her eyes which are so pure and authentic. Nothing like a toxic world we know.
Well, she is not my sibling but the most important friend I got as a neighbor. She comes to my room and gets under my blanket to sleep with me whenever it's Friday, though on my weekdays she becomes a mother and sits beside my bed in the morning to wake me up for my office. She waits until it's 8 am and starts shouting " wake up *****, you have to go to the office, wake uppppp " and this is how my day starts with a great note. And she waits till I get home at night so that she can share how her day went so far. Sometimes she starts sleeping in my bed after waiting for a while. How cute is that!!!
She doesn't care about the boundary we have between our apartments and religion as she is from a Hindu family. She comes and goes whenever she wants and considers our apartment as her own. If she fights with her mom, she comes to my mother and asks if she has got anything to eat. My mother adores her so much and feeds her with a whole lot of love.
Life is so simple in her eyes that one day she went outside to help her mom to buy daily needs and she asked her mother to buy chocolates for her as all the kids do, while she was feeling excited about getting back home and having the chocolate she looked outside the shop where some kid was looking hungry and sad. She went outside quietly and put her hand over the shoulder of that kid and told him "don't be sad, everything will be alright" and gave that chocolate to that kid. She thought her mom will be angry at her knowing that she gave away the chocolate her mom bought for her and Suhashini kept quiet till she got home and came home to talk to me. She asked for the same chocolate so that if her mom asks her she can show the chocolate. 😆
She dances whenever she listens to a song she likes, she doesn't think too much before doing anything she wants, she cares about people ignoring all the differences, she loves to feed others in her kitchen appliance toys with invisible foods, she enjoys expressing herself to people she loves. She cries whenever she feels bad doesn't care about what people will think. She is my Angel with hidden wings.
I want to become like her. Just because we are grown-up doesn't mean we can not cry, show care to others, stop overthinking, and most importantly we can not enjoy our life. Happiness is a choice. Like Suhashini we can be happy too. It's all about the perspective we have about life. We can find a thousand reasons to get unhappy about but we can hold onto one or two things to be happy about.
BE LIKE SUHASHINI, YOU WON'T REGRET IT 😇
