This little interesting beige brick is my latest addition to my tech collection. I managed to get it on eBay, but out of impulse. I've always wanted one of the "luggable" computers. These Compaq Portables and such, however; this caught my eye while browsing the portables.
Something about using the command line and terminal catches my attention and intrigues me. There is just something about it.
It turns on and displays the empty screen as expected. The posting on eBay stated that it needed "reprogramming", but I am assuming this is the setup process or something. I will figure it out as I go.
I opened it up today also. Mainly to make sure it was nice and healthy. The older Macintosh computers need at least the batteries changed by this age, but this thing doesn't seem to have an internal battery. The capacitors appear to be alright, and so nothing needs done right now. That is, unless I am missing something.
My plans right now are to hook it up to a spare Raspberry Pi. I have a rs232 cable that goes to usb coming from Amazon. If anyone knows of any cool tricks, hacks, firmware updates, or alternative systems to do with this then feel free to post :)
