@digitallifestyle, today I'm going to share with you my experience conducting an interactive Arbor Day activity in the Jclic program with my students in the computer lab.
It's worth noting that the computer lab is currently experiencing an electrical failure. The main switch that supplies power to the air conditioning and a large portion of the computer outlets are out. Only five of the 11 computers are functioning, affecting students' attention spans. It's not recommended to turn on the computers because they overheat. However, I created an Arbor Day activity using the educational software Jclic, taking advantage of this week's anniversary.
Also, since I only have five working computers, I divided the students into two groups, each for the third and fourth grade sections. Each student sat at a computer. Some did the activity in groups of two, with the goal of working as a team and encouraging collaborative work through this Jclic educational software.
This educational activity in the Jclic program consists of written content to encourage students to read. It also includes memory games, puzzles, written questions, and word searches. The questions are analytical, allowing students to develop their real-life problem-solving skills through the Jclic tool.
Although not every student had a computer, this allowed them to work in groups and were motivated to do this activity, which develops cognitive skills and improves technology use. This activity reinforces the content students learn in class with their teachers, as the idea is to reinforce what they learn in the classroom using technology.
