Hi 
One summer afternoon, my boyfriend’s mother invited me for a coffee trip a bit far from their house. They call it “the mountain,” though it’s not a high one — just a peaceful walk with a beautiful view.
So we decided to start our walk at 3 PM because the coffee shops opened at 4 PM. I was with my boyfriend’s mom, Auntie Petra, and Auntie Sylvia. Honestly, I feel like they’re my friends who are the same age as me 😂, they’re so cool and so much fun to be with! While we were walking, I enjoyed every corner of the place — I was amazed at how clean the surroundings were, the fresh air, the cool breeze, and the fact that it wasn’t humid at all. Everything was so green: the trees, the grass fields, and the peaceful landscape.
At the top, there were rows of apple trees lined up perfectly, just waiting to ripen and be harvested. We walked through these trees with an overlooking view of Lake Constance. I also saw different kinds of trees that we don’t have in the Philippines, which made the walk even more interesting.
I enjoyed everything I saw. Even though it was quite a long walk, I didn’t feel tired at all. Eventually, we reached the coffee shop at the end of the mountain, called Montfort Schöllssle. This isn’t just a coffee shop but it’s a charming, historic hotel/inn tucked into a scenic spot above the lake. It has an overlooking view of The Lake of Constance which you get to enjoy while having coffee. When we arrived, there weren’t many people around, so we looked for a place to sit and then started to order.
Everyone ordered coffee, and I also tried their slice of chocolate cake with whipped cream and blueberries on the side. It was actually really good — so good that I even ordered one to take home for my boyfriend. We had such a great time, enjoying our coffee along with the calm, quiet, and perfect view.
The staff was really nice, and she welcomed me warmly and even tried to chat with me. As time went by, more people started coming in — families, friends, and groups enjoying their afternoon together.
It’s always nice to breathe fresh air, and in their place, it’s always enjoyable to go out, take a walk, and appreciate nature.
I really love the ambience here. It’s the kind of place you can always come back to when you just want to chill and enjoy a good cup of coffee with an amazing view.
