Tutorial #5 tapeart - Apache13 The Famous Indie Band From Aceh
Aloha Steemian!
Now I want to share a story about my artwork about a famous local band in aceh The name is @apache13. I do not know any other personnel in this group, but I happened to be close friends with one of his personnel the name is
@ikramfahmisy, at that time he asked for a unique artwork created for their band image. So I made the image I created using brown packing tape media.
Curious to see how to make it?
Ok, consider carefully, and hopefully you are more curious :D
And here is the entry.
Photos above this when it's done and already in the frame.
How can with one color packing tape alone can produce paintings with various colors? This is all because of the light game that is on the back of the painting. Inside the frame there is a series of LED lights connected to an adapter as a charger. Light that illuminates the layer of packing tape contained in this painting is what makes the effect of color gradation from the packing tape itself, why? Because the layer of packing tape in this painting is always different level of thickness. The thicker the layers, the darker the colors can be. And if the layer of tape is thin, then the results in the color can be brighter.
And here's some stage of the process.
First, I started drawing basic sketches of the darkest colors that I wanted. I did not use sketch help from pencil and so on, I immediately made it using packing tape.
And the second stage, I started giving the next layer of packing tape. Here the photos that I show have been done accidentally.
Going to the next stage, I again gave a new packing tape layer and then started cutting it back, to get the object image I wanted.
*** And here's the final stage, I complete a less pattern that is right above the head of the band's leftmost personnel. Can you find the difference from the previous photo?***
The process of making tapeart painting is actually not too much different from the process of making vector in photosop, But here we use packing tape to form objeck from layer to layer.
Ok, maybe this is all I can share. Hopefully you are happy and interested to try to make your own in your own place. Hopefully useful and good luck.
