Gonna write a little introduction after reading
I stumbled upon Steemit a little over a month ago when I was browsing potential blog sites. I wanted a platform on which I could share my thoughts and experiences as I pursue a career as a cellist. I have always been an advocate of crypto so writing on a platform that utilized blockchain was ideal and Steemit fit that bill. It was quite the surprised when I started reading about the soft fork and the separation from steemit. I'm rather excited that I joined at this time and I look forward to the growth and innovation of Hive.
A little about myself
I'm a 2nd generation Asian-American who grew up in Los Angeles. I'm currently finishing up my bachelor of music degree at the Juilliard School of music under the tutelage of Joel Krosnick. Sadly there probably won't be a commencement ceremony this year due to the COVID-19 outbreak but at least ill get a piece of paper with my name on it. I'll be returning there in the fall to pursue my Masters degree under Joel Krosnick and Tim Eddy as a Kovner Fellow and as Krosnick's teaching assistant. Before I went to New York, I lived in Los Angeles where I studied with Ron Leonard at the Colburn School. While I was in highschool I ran a non-profit reptile rescue shelter and had the pleasure of taking care of over 200 reptiles ranging from geckos to frilled dragons. This was purely out of love for herps and I'm hoping I can dabble in herpetology again sometime in the future. Below are a couple pictures of the herps I took care of.
Panther Chameleon
Frilled Dragon
Day Gecko
I also played Starcraft 2 semi-professionally on Call-Gaming. My parents were typical Asian tiger parents and put restrictions on my computer usage so the only time I could play was in the middle of the night. I quit after a while due to not having time to practice with my teammates but I've continued to play quite a lot of games. Currently playing League, Apex, and Smash ultimate.
I also have a cat :) she acts like a queen and I've had her since she was born.
What I want to share and write about
I love music. I think its an essential part of life and a fundamental part of what makes us human and I want to share that with the readers on Hive. I think that classical music is an incredible art form that is commonly misunderstood and I hope to cultivate a curiosity for it through my posts. I'm hoping to write about the struggles, mistakes, and insight that I experience on my journey as a musician. But most of all, I just want to share a bit of beauty for your enjoyment.
I look forward to the future of #Hive as we continue onward.
