When reading the book of the prophet Jeremiah, the expression "get up early" caught my attention because of the number of times that is repeated only in the book of Jeremiah (10 times in the revised and updated version). The only time the same expression is quoted in II Chronicles 32.15 also refers to the prophet Jeremiah as time (II Chronicles 32, 12-22).
God spoke with the prophet Jeremiah and began to minister in his life since dawn. The great men of God in the story relate that they had a morning prayer routine, like John Wesley, who got up around four in the morning to prepare in prayer for the day he would have.
We will learn from the experience of the prophet Jeremiah about early morning prayer:
1. God calls us in the morning:
Jeremiah 7:13 "And now, because they have done all these works unto you, saith the Lord, and I spake unto you, rising early, and not hearing, I have called you, and you have not answered me."
The prophet Jeremiah declares that God called people at dawn and people did not respond. While he was doing it when Samuel was called by God and heard the voice of the Lord calling him three times (I Samuel 3.1-9).
Jeremiah 25.3,4 "For twenty-three years from the thirteenth of Josiah the son of Ammon, king of Judah, to this day the word of the Lord has come to me, and rising early, I see it I have declared, but you have not listened. early in the morning, all his servants the prophets sent to the LORD, but he has not listened, nor inclined his ear to hear. "
The people did not hear the voice of the Lord or could not understand that it was God who called them.
Jeremiah 32.33 "They turned their backs and not their faces; Even, early, and taught them, they did not listen, to receive the warning."
Many times we wake up at night thinking and do not know why we are awake, but God can be God calling us in a way that we are willing to pray.
2- Prophets are raised in the early morning
Jeremiah 7:25 "From the day your fathers came out of Egypt to this day, I sent you all my servants the prophets, every day, rising early, I sent them."
The people of God received several prophets sent by God in the early morning hours to awaken the servants of the Lord on the Words of God.
Jeremiah 26,5 "Pay attention to the words of my servants the prophets, which, early on, I send you, since you have not heard me so far."
God wants us to hear his voice and as prophets we can speak on his behalf. But for that we need to seek a life of prayer and intimacy with God.
Many times God allows us a dream that draws our attention to some mystery of God, then we must rise at the same time and pray to God about the dream, seeking guidance from the Lord.
Jeremiah 29:19 "For they have not heeded my words, says Jehovah, with whom my servants the prophets have sent from early, but you have not listened to them, says the Lord.
If you wake up at dawn, hear the voice of the Lord calling you to pray. Maybe the Lord is calling you to be a prophet. In the early morning you give yourself the hand of your rest and the dream to hear God speak to you.
3- The change happens at dawn
Jeremiah 35.14,15 "The words of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, who commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are carried out, because to this day they did not drink, but they obey the orders of their father; I, however, who, early on, have spoken to me to have not obeyed me. "Early in the morning, I sent all my servants, saying: Go back from your evil way, and do good deeds and do not follow other gods to to serve them, so you will remain in the land I have given you and other parents, but they did not bow their ears to me, nor did you obey me.
The prophet Jeremiah uses the example of Jonad who forbade his sons to drink wine and they obeyed. Call attention to the people of God who obey the Lord's orders. An exhortation to the transformation of life through prayer and the prophecies revealed at dawn.
Jeremiah 44,4 "However, I got up early, and my servants the prophets sent them, to tell them: Do not do this abominable thing that I hate."
- God speaks with us at dawn, in dreams and in prayer to awaken us spiritually. It calls us to true conversion, change of life and transform our character in the light of the Word of God. The temperament of a man or woman of God who lives in prayer is also molded when he seeks the Lord at dawn. *
The changes that we expect in our lives and do not happen, must begin with prayer intentions in the early morning and when the day scratches everything will be different, because it will be watered of anointing of the Holy Spirit.
God wants to do a great work in his life through a life of intense prayer that will begin at dawn. You will have an intimacy with God so deep that you will hear the Lord calling to pray, God will raise you as a prophet and everything will change by the power of prayer.
The life of the prophet Jeremiah was marked by prayer at dawn, when God revealed his purposes. Remember: everything starts at dawn! Then sign a purpose with God whenever you wake up getting up and praying or then putting an alarm clock for a special moment of prayer with God.
When everything stops and everyone is asleep, God is at work (Psalm 121: 3, 4), so the Lord awakens his prophets in the early morning hours, to seek and receive his blessing.
