I'm spending the New Year with friends at a friend's cottage. For new year's eve we made some warped salmon. Salmon fillet cooked by the fire. Damn good salmon I say.
To add to the finnish cottage experience, we had a sauna and chilled in a wood burning warm tub outside. The most genius part of the tub is a floating beer tray that can hold six cans of beer. Drinking by the frozen lake, everything covered in snow. Drinking is probably the most Finnish part of the experience, along with sauna.
We shot some rockets and drank some champaign. For more food, we had frankfurters and potato salad. For some reason that's the food for New Year here. I have no idea where that comes from. It's good though.
