I’m back on the wagon. My log rhythms kept getting sidelined and I think the best thing for this busy mom is to attempt a weekly run log update. The first nine days of this year, I have not missed a single run. However, they have all been on He DREADmill. Ugh. Tomorrow morning I intend to switch that up. But January-March I always focus on weight training more to rebuild what I lost (weight and muscle) trying to win first place in the runs before, a solid nine months. So day one was the New Years Day 5k. I placed second overall. Always. Except for that year I needed a toilet more - and won! It was 9 below that day. This year, a balmy 27 degrees farenheight. I was almost two minutes faster than last year. Thanks to diligence and maybe C60? (Great soup!)

I got a cool new running overshirt!
My kids and husband framed a portion of my old marathon medals in a lovely shadow box!
A couple fortune cookies for the new year...
And this year’s lottery number, should we choose to ever play for kicks (I think lottery is a ridiculous waste of money and no one understands probability and statistics who actually plays!) will be lucky #730!

Days 2-9 were 3.2 miles on a treadmill at 9.2 miles per hour. I go for that because before feels fruitless and after eats into weightlifting and rebuilding. I am always shocked at how many people are also in the gym at 4am after the New Year...and how quickly and steadily that wanes til they next.

Happy trails, all!
