Art Journal: "Gum Trees By The River" l Coffee Painting โ๐๏ธ
The gum tree is native to Austria, These trees have become iconic in the Australian landscape. This has over 700 species and is well-known for its essential oils and fragrant leaves.
I used three types of painting brushes for this art. It took me fifty-seven minutes to finish this artwork.
For those who want to try to paint using this unique medium, you can follow the basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
๐ Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
๐ Pencil and Eraser
๐ Coffee Powder
๐ 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
๐ Ruler
๐ Clean Water
๐ Rag
๐ Paper napkin
Brushes:
๐ Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
๐ Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
๐ Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
โข Outline or sketch of your painting reference.
โข Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture of the sky.
โข On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
โข The same procedure with the foreground.
โข Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
โข Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
