BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! RULESET: Keep Your Distance
My splinterlands battle post for the Battle Mage Secret Weekly Challenge.

Keep Your Distance is the ruleset for this week's Battle Mage Secrets weekly challenge. With the 'Keep Your Distance' ruleset, we cannot use monsters with melee attacks. So we should use monsters with abilities that can counter magic or ranged attacks. This ruleset is simple and not that challenging. However, I found that this ruleset is rare and we don't get much chance to play battles with this rulest. Hence It took me a lot of time to complete this challenge.
In this ruleset, we cannot use melee monsters. So we should use monsters with void, phase, void armor, and magic reflect ability to counter magic attacks. Similarly, we should use monsters with headwinds, and return fire ability to counter ranged attacks.
Battle Challenge Rulset
Keep Your Distance
Ruleset: Reverse Speed, Keep Your Distance
- Reverse Speed: Monster with the lowest speed attack first and has a high chance of evading attacks.
- Keep Your Distance: We cannot use monsters with melee attacks in the battle.
Mana cap: 27
Splinters: Fire, Water, Death, Dragon
My Strategy For The Battle
The total mana for the battle is 27 and I have 4 splinters to choose from. So, I decided to go with a water splinter as I have good magic or a ranged attack monster in a water splinter. I have to choose monsters carefully for my battle lineup as there are two rulesets for this battle. The rulesets for the battles are 'Reverse Speed' and 'Keep Your Distance'. So, my strategy is to use monsters with the lowest speed as much as possible. Also, I will make sure that my defense should be stronger. Then I will try to use monsters for stronger attacks with the lowest speed.

Alric Stormbringer (Summoner)
I used the level 4 Alric Stormbringer (gold card) water summoner for this battle. It gives one extra magic attack to our friendly monsters. I chose this summoner because I am going to use some magic monsters in my battle lineup.
1. Wave Brood
Wave brood is an epic water monster. Here I used the level 3 Wave Brood (gold card) monster in this battle lineup. I chose this monster in the first position because of its health and lowest speed as the ruleset for the battle is Reverse Spedd. It has 2 ranged attacks and 13 health which will give a stronger defense to my battle lineup. Also, this monster has Taunt and Close range ability which will give me some extra advantage in the battle.
2. Albatross
The Albatross monster costs only one mana. It has 1 speed and 1 health. I chose this monster only for an extra little defense. Because it will take one attack and will help little to save my next monsters. This monster has flying ability, but I don't think that it will help me in this battle because it has only one health.
3. Magi of Choas
I used the Magi of Choas level 3 magic monster (gold card) in the third position. Because I need to use magic monsters with strong attacks. So this one is a good choice for that. It costs 6 mana and has 3 magic attacks. Along with that it has lower speed and good health will help me in this battle.
4. Riverboat Captain
I chose Riverboat Captain Monster in the fourth position because of its strong attacks and Blast ability. Here, I used a level 2 monster and it costs 6 mana. It has 2 magic attacks, 2 speed, and 4 health. It has lower speed and low health. So, I used it in the second last position because I don't want that this monster dies soon.
5. Crustacean King
Crustacean King is a common water monster. I used a level 5 Crustacean king monster in this battle. I chose this monster because of its Tank Heal ability. It costs only 3 mana. It has 1 ranged attack, 1 speed, 1 armor, and 4 health. This monster will help to heal my first monster.

My opponents used all magic monsters. It seems that he has a much stronger battle lineup than mine. Still, I used all monsters with lower speeds, so I think that I am in a good position. The void and phase ability of the opponent's Djinn Oshannus monster might create a problem for me. Opponents have used Nerrisa Tridawn monster in the second position and Riverboat captain in the third position.
In the first round, my monsters got one extra magic attack, and the opponents monster got one extra magic attack too because of the respective summoner. My second monster died soon after the first attack of the opponent's Riverboat Captain monster because of its blast ability and I am happy with that as that monster costs only 1 mana. So, my other monster got extra time to kill the opponent's monsters. In this round opponent's first monster got severe damage. Similarly, my first monster's health is too low but my Crustacean King monster helped it to heal in the battle.
In the second round, my monster killed the opponent's first monster quickly. At the end of the second round, my first monster died as well and my monsters succeed to damage the opponent's remaining monster.
In the third round, the opponent's second monster died soon and my three monsters are still alive. At the end of the third round, the opponent's last monster died and I won the battle easily.
Conclusion
The ruleset for the battle was 'Reverse Speed' and 'Keep Your Distance'. I smartly chose my monsters for the battle lineup. Mostly I chose monsters with lower speed and tried to make my defense stronger with Wave Brood monster.
My Crustacean King monster helped a lot to heal my monster in the first position which leads me toward the win. Overall my strategy worked well and I won the battle easily.
