Today I want to talk about a player who has baseball in his blood and is shining in the best baseball in the world: Víctor Mesa Jr.
For those who don't know, he is the son of the stellar Cuban player from Villa Clara, Víctor Mesa. His father is a true legend of our game, a man who left an indelible mark with his dedication, charisma, and talent in the outfield. That passion for baseball was passed down in the family. His brother, Víctor Víctor Mesa, also played baseball, even in the Cuban National Series, although due to different circumstances, he couldn't make it to the Major Leagues.
But now it's Víctor Mesa Jr. who is writing his own story. He is having a very good season with the Tampa Bay Rays, proving that the Mesa family talent is still alive. And the best part is that he is right in the middle of the postseason, fighting in the playoffs and making his mark in the most important moments.
It is a huge pride to see the sons of our sports glories succeed. It's pure Cuban talent, a mix of the Cuban baseball school and minor league development in the United States.
I hope Víctor Mesa Jr. keeps improving, that this postseason is just the beginning of a great career, and that he stays shining in the MLB for many years. I wish him all the success in the world!
