Hi friends, I hope you are having a great week despite the drop in cryptocurrency prices and hive in particular. But as a Spanish saying goes, it never rained that it never stopped raining.

In today's post I wanted to introduce you to a small town that is located about 8 kilometers from where my mother lives (Navia-Asturias-Spain) and that I visited during the weekend taking a beautiful walk on Saturday morning. That's why I wasn't sure in which community to publish it, because for me going to this locality from the city where I live was a trip worthy of #Pinmapple, I took a very productive walk, photographically and culturally speaking, so it would fit in the #wednesdaywalk and I did it during Saturday morning so it would also be a post worthy of publishing it in #weekendexperience. So, I have assigned each community a number on a piece of paper, wrapped the papers and by lottery I am writing the post for the #pinmapple community.

Navia is a small town of about 8000 inhabitants, is located in the province of Asturias, in northern Spain, so that the town is bordered on the north by the Cantabrian Sea. In this town flows the river that bears the name of the town (Rio Navia) which is one of the largest rivers in Asturias and provides the town with a river and seafront with lots of charm. The reason for my visit was to take a picture of a boat and a light bulb for the photo contest organized by

@davidesimoncini in #feelgood community, but now I embarked on a walk that started at the marina and as you will see as I walked I was finding different points of interest as a park with a pond with ducks and geese with water coming directly from the river Navia, a sculpture of the Sierpinsky tetrahedron whose photograph came in handy for another of the blockchain photo contests, then I found an urban art gallery with more than 40 works, a walk along the river bank through a marsh where there are different waterfowl until you reach the beach and finally in order not to return the same way I returned to the village through a large park with diferent trees.

I have to admit that the main objective of my visit to Navia was to get a photo of a boat and a light bulb for the photo contest (Photochain Challenge organized by

@davidsimoncini). Apparently, my intuition of getting a good photo in this place was true, since I got with the photo an honorable mention. But already being there, I realized that this small marina has its charm for the tranquility that was there on Saturday morning, where the sun was just warm enough and provided me the opportunity to get some nice photos for another contest that I participate weekly in the #shadowhunters community organized by

@olgavita about capturing reflections.

After achieving the initial goal, because the doctor recommended more walking to improve my cholesterol levels, I decided to take a walk to the beach of Navia, which is about 3 kilometers away. Since I had been shopping in Navia a week ago, I knew that in the village there was a small park with a pond with water coming directly from the river. In this park there are three things that catch my attention.

The first thing that catches my attention is that on one side of the park there is a typical construction of Asturias, which are the aerial barns called hórreos. These barns were formerly used in rural houses to prevent rodents from gaining easy access to them. This one in particular I don't think it is storing grain, but I like that there is such a typical construction of Asturias decorating the park.

The second thing that caught my attention is how calm the ducks are walking outside the pond and the multitude of species that live in harmony (ducks, geese, gulls, sparrows, pigeons). We humans could also get along with those who are different from ourselves.

In addition, another thing that I really liked is that the pond has little houses for the different birds so that in the winter months these birds have a place to shelter.

Right next to the duck park, there is the secondary school of Galileo Galilei. In its outdoor garden there is a pyramid built with cans of soft drinks and beer that the students had collected in the different catering establishments of the town. With these cans, with the advice of their teachers a few years ago, they built the Sierpinski tetrahedron, which consists of the iterative repetition of the same structure to form the same structure of greater size. It so happened that in the #pob community there was a photo contest where the theme was garbage and I thought it was a good idea to present what was garbage turned into art in a totally didactic environment such as a high school.

After this visit to friends with feathers, I continued my walk towards the beach with the intention of going to the beach by the new river or promenade that even in Google Maps is not yet mapped. However, when I arrived at the soccer field, I was very happy to see that part of the perimeter of the soccer field and its surrounding facilities had become a museum of urban art with works that I will be able to present in the weekly contest organized by

@digi-me for the #streetart community.

One of the works that I liked the most is a work by the artist Bastian Prendes and that I have recently presented in the #streetart contest. This work was the winner, a few years ago, of the graffiti contest, the theme being gender violence. As you can see it shows a smiling harpy with wings of freedom leaving behind a rabid wolf symbolizing the evil that unfortunately many men provoke their partners.

Last year, the contest dealt with the theme of culture (literature, painting, etc.) and the graffiti artist Sayes made a graffiti that simply reminded me of the work of Munch's scream being a faceless person and an aura surrounding the head similar to the one used by Munch in his famous painting.

Once surrounded the soccer field, I reached the promenade that led me to the beach. It was the first time that I approached this walk and the truth that I really liked walking along this long straight line that initially allowed me to have the mouth of the river on the left bank and on the right side to see in the distance a marsh where some sea birds were enjoying the tranquility of the environment.

After walking about a kilometer, I reached an area where the walkway turns into a long bridge over the meanders that supplies water to the marsh. The bridge is made of wood and has a good number of bars and with the sunlight it gave me nice shadows that I will present soon in more detail in the shadows contest organized by

@melinda010100 from the #shadowhunters community.

Once the bridge is finished, there is a small ramp that allows you to descend practically next to the beach. As you can see, the end of the promenade ends like the bow of a boat, which is very successful as it is a river walk that ends in the sea.

Finally, I arrived at my destination marked for the walk which is the beach of Navia. This beach is one of the most visited beaches of western Asturias to be a beach with two different areas of waves. The left side usually has enough waves in autumn and winter for surfing and being both the right side of the beach that is more sheltered is a fairly quiet area to take a bath without risk because there are not many currents.

After a few minutes listening to the swell of the sea, hitting the sand, I returned back to the urban center of Navia. However, I did it by a different way. The path chosen for my return was a path that surrounds the marsh full of different species of trees (pines, eucalyptus, oaks, birches, etc.) being able to listen to different birds, sing and breathe fresh air full of nature.
