I have had my new iPhone 13 for about a month now. It is an impressive business phone, but like all new generation iPhones, I see a big problem in the fact that the cameras protrude too far from the phone as a whole, with the risk of scratching or breaking the lenses.

For this reason, on the same day I bought the device, I decided to go to a mobile phone accessory shop and protected my phone with a case, a glass for the front screen and also for the rear cameras.

One month later

As you can see, the protective glass for the cameras broke without being knocked, only with daily handling, possible knocks with keys that I might have in my pocket, etc.

However, despite the breakage of the protective glass, the photographs taken still had good quality, except for small reflections when the light was very direct on the lens.

Despite this, I opted to go to a general electronics shop and bought a new protector so I could put it on myself this time.

Unboxing CellularLine Protector

In the shop I found only one single product compatible with my iPhone 13, so the product I bought is a protector of the brand CelullarLine. The box is very well packaged, preserving the contents free of dust and moisture. This gave me a lot of confidence.

As you can see on the back of the product, the product is marketed as an ultra-thin glass, easy to fit, difficult to scratch and compatible with cases. From these four claims I hope to confirm that it is hard to scratch. The other three claims I can say are true because as you will see in later photographs I have a case on my phone, it is a very thin glass and has been easy to fit.

Inside the box

Inside the box we find, on the one hand, some very basic but sufficient instructions to be able to place the lens protector by ourselves.

And we also find a well sealed bag inside which we find our screen protector, a cardboard with protected adhesive to use to trap dirt particles and also a microfiber wipe similar to those used to clean the glasses.

Fitting my new protector

Removing the old protector (The most complicated task)

First of all, because I had a protector already in place, but it was damaged, I had to remove the old protector using a razor blade at first. Being very careful not to damage the lenses.

This task was the longest of all, since I had to be very careful and in many areas it was difficult to remove the broken protector due to the large amount of glue that the old protector had.

Carefully with the blade I was removing all the remains of glass, but as you can see there was still a lot of glue residue.

Cleaning with alcohol diluted in water

Because there was a lot of glue residue left, I first tried to remove it with just a cotton swab and water. But this did not work. So I opted to add a little bit of alcohol on top of the cotton swab soaked with water.

As you can see, I was able to remove the glue residues that were in the area of the lens.

A good drying

With the intention of drying the area very well, I used the microfiber wipe to clean the area and leave it very dry and almost without any residue.

Removal of dust and particles

In order to achieve a better adhesion of the protector, before placing it I used the dust trap adhesive.

I stuck several times the adhesive on the protector placement area to make sure that there were no particles left.

Placing the protector

Finally, place the protector over the rear cameras of the cell phone as shown in the pictures.

And with the purpose that it was well immobile, press lightly helping me with the microfiber wipe to avoid damaging the protector.

Getting to place the protector correctly and without having to resort to a store where this type of service is charged in addition to the protector you purchase.

Hola,

Desde hace un mes aproximadamente tengo mi nuevo iPhone 13. Que es un teléfono de empresa impresionante, pero como todos los iPhone de nueva generación les veo como gran problema que sus cámaras sobresalen demasiado respecto al conjunto del teléfono con el pertinente riesgo de rallado de las lentes o de su rotura.

Por este motivo, en el mismo día de la compra del dispositivo, decidí ir a una tienda de accesorios para teléfonos móviles y protegí mi teléfono con una carcasa, un cristal para la pantalla frontal y también para las cámaras traseras.

Un mes más tarde

Como podéis ver el cristal protector de las cámaras se me quebró sin recibir golpes, únicamente con la manipulación diaria, posibles golpes con llaves que pudiese tener en mi bolsillo, etc.

Sin embargo, pese a la rotura del cristal protector, las fotografías tomadas seguían teniendo buena calidad, salvo pequeños reflejos cuando la luz era muy directa sobre la lente.

A pesar de ello, opte por ir a una tienda generalista de electrónica y me compré un nuevo protector para en esta ocasión ponerlo yo mismo.

Unboxing Protector CellularLine

En la tienda solo me encontré un único producto compatible con mi iPhone 13, por lo que el producto que he comprado es un protector de la marca CelullarLine. Cuya caja está muy bien empaquetada, pudiendo preservar el contenido libre de polvo y humedad. Lo cual me confirió mucha confianza.

Como se puede ver en la parte de atrás del producto, el producto lo comercializan como un cristal ultrafino, de fácil colocación, difícil de rallar y compatible con carcasas. De estas cuatro afirmaciones espero confirmar que es de difícil de rallar. Las otras tres afirmaciones puedo decir que son ciertas porque como verán en fotografías posteriores tengo carcasa en mi teléfono, es un cristal muy fino y ha sido fácil de colocar.

Dentro de la caja

Dentro de la caja nos encontramos, por un lado, unas instrucciones muy básicas pero suficientes para poder conseguir colocar por nosotros mismos el protector de lentes.

Y también nos encontramos con una bolsa bien precintada en cuyo interior se encuentra nuestro protector de pantalla, un cartón con adhesivo protegido para emplear para atrapar partículas de suciedad y también una toallita de microfibra similar a las empleadas para limpiar las gafas.

Colocando mi nuevo protector

Retirada del protector anterior (La tarea más complicada)

En primer lugar, debido a que tenía un protector ya puesto, pero que se encontraba dañado, tuve que quitar el protector viejo ayudándome en primera instancia de una cuchilla. Teniendo mucha precaución de no dañar las lentes.

Esta tarea fue la más larga de todas, ya que tuve que ir con especial cuidado y en muchas zonas era difícil quitar el protector roto por la gran cantidad de pegamento que tenía el protector anterior.

Con cuidado con la cuchilla fui quitando todos los restos de cristal, pero como pueden ver quedaban muchos residuos de pegamento.

Limpieza con alcohol diluido en agua

Debido a que quedaban muchos restos de pegamento, en primer lugar intenté retirarlos únicamente con un algodón y agua. Pero esto no funcionó. Por lo que opte por añadir un poco de alcohol sobre el algodón mojado con agua.

Como pueden ver, pude retirar los restos de pegamento que había en la zona de las cámaras.

Un buen secado

Con la intención de secar muy bien la zona, emplee la toallita de microfibra para limpiar la zona y dejarla bien seca y casi sin ningún residuo.

Eliminación de polvo y partículas

Con la intención de conseguir una mejor adhesión del protector, antes de colocarlo empleé el adhesivo atrapa polvo.

Pegué varias el adhesivo sobre la zona de colocación del protector para asegurarme que no quedaban partículas.

Colocación del protector

Por último, coloque el protector sobre las cámaras traseras del celular como se puede ver en las fotografías.

Y con la finalidad que quedase bien inmóvil, presione ligeramente ayudándome de la toallita de microfibra para no dañar el protector.

Consiguiendo colocar el protector correctamente y sin tener que recurrir a una tienda donde este tipo de servicio lo cobran adicionalmente al protector que adquieres.
