🇵🇹🇵🇹 Trip to Lisbon: Visiting the Belem neighbourhood Part 2. 🇵🇹🇵🇹 Viaje a Lisboa: Visitando el barrio de Belem Parte 2. (ENG-ESP)
After some rest in the garden of Alfonso de Albuquerque, I walked to the Jerónimos monastery through another of the gardens in the neighborhood. In this case it is the garden of Vasco da Gama. As in all the parks I have seen in this city, it is all very neat and clean, which makes me have a healthy envy for how well they take care of the heritage of the city, the people of Lisbon.
This monastery is simply breathtaking. Last Tuesday on my way back from the lab where I was giving training, I came across this monument head-on after having understood an incorrect indication from the car's GPS. From that moment on, I was looking forward to get close to photograph this monument and be able to share it with all the Hive friends. According to the information I could read at the entrance, it is a 16th century monument that was built to commemorate the return of Vasco da Gama from the Portuguese Indies.
As an annex building to the Hieronymites monastery, there is the cloister of the monastery and also the archeology and marine museums. The archeology museum from what I have been able to read on its facade is currently under renovation and the marine museum at the time I arrived was already closed so I could only take a few pictures of the main facades.

This garden was on my list of places to visit. Unfortunately, I arrived late and the guards were closing the gates at that time, so I have been left with the desire to visit it and take some pictures. Anyway, for all those who want to visit it virtually you can see some pictures in the following link.
Before returning to the hotel, I went to one of the restaurants located next to the garden of Vasco da Gama and how could it be otherwise, I ate one of the star recipes of Portuguese cuisine, which is the Bacalao al horno lagareiro. But before that, I had a local beer and some tasty olives.
