A quilmes to cool down and as a prelude to taste the Argentinean gastronomy.

It's been a few weeks since I last participated in the #beersaturday organized by

A few weeks ago I visited the city of Cordoba (Spain) and although it was still spring, it was already hot in this city in the south of Spain, very close to Seville, as I walked through the streets of the city centre visiting the famous Cordoban patios with their colourful flowers where geraniums are the kings.
Afterwards, due to the stifling heat that my friend Javier and I were feeling, we returned to the hotel, but trying to cool off by walking back along the Roman bridge that crosses the Guadalquivir river.
Although the atmosphere was cooler, our throats were asking us for hydration and we both said in unison
Shall we go for a beer?
Well, said and done, we went walking around the area around the mosque of Cordoba through the historic centre of the city.
The terraces were almost fully occupied, so we decided to go to the vicinity of our hotel, knowing the existence of the Victoria market, where one can buy food and drink from many different places on the planet.
Specifically, on the main floor of this market there is an area for all the food stalls offering different types of beer on tap.
However, the beers on offer were all from the Cruzcampo brewery and it's not even close to being my favourite. So, when I turned around I saw an Argentinian food stall and I didn't hesitate to go over and ask if they had Argentinian beer.
Kindly, the local waitress indicated that they had imported Quilmes beer, so it was both mine and my friend's choice of beer.
Quilmes beer is a Pilsener Lager type beer with 4.9° of alcohol, imported from Argentina. You can see that the label keeps the colours of the Argentinean flag.
The body of this beer is light and has a very well balanced aroma between malt and hops with a bright golden colour and a white foam with a pleasant aftertaste on the palate.
As it was close to lunchtime and as we had quenched our thirst with the first beer, when we ordered the second round of beers we ordered some typical Argentinean dishes such as beef and a plate of assorted pasties.
In the end, we quenched our thirst with a delicious Quilmes, which in turn opened the door to a pleasant experience of Argentinean gastronomy.
After lunch, like good Spaniards, we took a siesta before continuing our tour of Cordoba by visiting the mosque-cathedral.
