Hello Everyone,
I started making detailed character explanations starting with my previous post Let's talk about the Giant Roc Myth. This week we have Spineback Turtle as the Share your weekly battle theme.
Turtles, tortoises are used in the entire myths and game universes for a long long time. The most famous "spiky" turtle we knew is the Bowser or the King Koopa which is a fictional character, the primary antagonist in Nintendo's Mario franchise, and the archenemy of Mario.
Also, there is a character called Spiny in the Mario universe, which looks like our beloved monster Spineback Turtle.
I can't pass without also pointing out one of the very successful franchises the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, their shells are not spiky but their tongues are really spiky, lol
Also, I would like to mention a beast called Dragon Turtle which resembles our creature most. Check out this wonderful deep-dive on Dragon Turtles here.
Now we know the background of our character we need to see the Lore in Splinterlands.
Spineback Turtles live around the edges of the Dark Water, in the inner seas of ΛZMΛRÉ. They can breathe air, but the incredibly harsh climate of the Water Splinter makes the recesses of the deep more comfortable. They are generally gentle creatures, but when roused to battle, they are shockingly difficult to destroy.
The card itself is alpha/beta and it's a very commonly used card in Magic Water decks. At level 4 it adds a thorns ability which is very logical because of the looks!
| Level 1 | Level 4 | Level 10 |
|---|---|---|
The prices are a little bit over $4 right now for the level1 common and $75 for the GF.
Now you know your card. Let's check out my battles. As always I'm doing it now while I'm writing this article!
Yeah, you guessed it right, Alric with a magic deck is hard to beat. What I did here is to protect my front with the albatross (just for a sec) but actually using Spineback, I add a very good sneak-counter in the backside. But there was no chance for the other team to come up with something else cause the match finished with just the loss of Albatros, nothing else. It's all about the magic bombardment! Here is the battle link.
Here is another match from Splinterlands Famdom. A diamond match!
This was a pretty long match in which you can get to know what is that thorns would really do. It was a fantastic match!
I think you can make use of any character with the right circumstances. And Spineback Turtle is a very cool card to include in your gameplay!
