My rubbish was collected today, as it is every Friday.
Nowadays the garbage truck is automated with a hydrolic arm which reaches out, grabs the wheelie bin, lifts and tips the contents into the truck and places the bin down on the kerb again and moves on.

It is really efficient and actually kind of cool to watch, especially if you are a young child!

But today there was some rubbish laying in my front yard, it much have fallen out as the bin was lifted and it made me think of when I was young watching the rubbish being collected by two men riding the back of the truck, picking up up each bin along the street, dumping them in the back, putting them back and jumping back on the truck to move up the street.
I never remember seeing rubbish in the street after the truck had gone past back then.
I think things were a little more caring and thoughtful in the past!
Of course past times are sometimes imagined to have been better, or more genuine than our current world but in reality we are vastly better off with a technological future in my opinion, however sometimes I think something might be missing...
