A shopping mission to start - Aldi specials to grab. Chose a shopping centre we thought would be quiet and good for breakfast. Got that wrong - seems that the mums choose to take their screaming kids to shops early on Saturday morning. Supermarket was noisy with kids but we did get our stuff. Coffee shop was noisy with kids. We had coffee only and had breakfast at home. Not again.
Took myself down on a hot afternoon for a walk along out local creek track. Found this bush flowering in the bush just below the gold course. Escapee or not?

Sundew flower. There were heaps of native bees but could not get one to pose
Did find orchids - chiloglottis trapeziformis - dainty wasp orchid. A few flowers still going with a lot seeded
Two in frame. Always a hard photo subject as the flower does not open as wide as the others in the sub-genus
Saw quite a few lizards - as close to a pose I could get. They scurry off pronto

Was warm enough for sun orchids to open. Like 30C warm. Found two budding only - not looking that robust. Last week there were at least 6 plants - now only two

Did feel the leech on my waterbottle hand. A bit surprised as ground is not that wet

Chiloglottis formicifera flower two. Just below this one was another somewhat chewed plant with a flash of orange. Was not quick enough for the photo of orange flash on an orchid
But said flash of orange was happy to pose on the photographer
Last season there were nodding greenhoods where the track joins the firetrail. One bud just emerging but leaf does not look like a nodding greenhood. It has a short stem between spike and leaf and leaf is a bit more ovate
Right to be unsure as here is a a flower. Greenhood it is. Need a labellum photo for ID. Sepals spread forward

Tried out the new air compressor device I got for my wife. it wraps around the leg like a sock. Pumps up and off in zones. Was hoping it would help the sore knee. What it did was cork one calf
Dinner with friends for my wife's 65th and our 15th wedding anniversary. Good food and good company and a friend did the driving
