Got some warm days cooking up. Was thinking of going up to Blue Mountains to look for orchids. Too warm to do that even though it is cooler up there.

alt

Head to the water became the plan B - phone told me to pack an umbrella - big thunderstorm on the way

alt

Took the train down to Barangaroo and then walk up to Darling Harbour

alt

Crown Casino from Barangaroo station side - breeze off the water made it pleasant walking - lots of people about

alt

Looking back to Hickson Point - the purple wreath decoration is new

alt

Heading down toward Pyrmont Bridge - not decided how much to walk. Was disappointed when we did the Seven Bridges walk in September that they took us down the street behind. Much prettier along the water

alt

View down to Anzac Bridge

alt

The storm is rumbling behind - a few flashes of lightning

alt

View across Darling Harbour - big flag flying

alt

Storm marching in

alt

Fab light coming across the casino tower

alt

Plenty of places to find cover. Umbrella did go up a few times

alt

Fab light across the harbour ahead of the storm

alt

Wind picking up

alt

Rain building

alt

Got super windy in the eye of the storm - not a lot of fireworks

alt

Rain cleared for the walk back to George Street - trams are running. Walked up to Town Hall and got the train home. Was a good way to escape the heat. Was a blue sky afternoon on my walk back from the station. Amazing - a one hour storm and then gone

Stopped in shops on the way - a few things needed for dinner - like veges and sausages

Had a friend over for dinner - a bit of a BBQ event.
