Weekend broke to a clear day. Tomorrow is Mother's Day. Plan is for my wife's son and my son to come for dinner. I have a big dinner planned with 3 entrees and a main course. Step one was to check recipes and write shopping lists
We went to local shopping centre - not been there for 2 months. It was horrible with too many people. Worse it was full of husbands who have no clue about shopping. We could not get out fast enough.
Quiet aftwrnoon getting a little garden stuff done. Planted out some kitchen vege remnants and also seed boxes for winter veges - lettuce, beans, radish, bok choy, and some herbs for indoors.
Photos - flowers from the front garden
Fried egg tree
Camelia
Tibouchina
A native Australian shrub whose name escapes me - I cook with it quite a bit
And this surprise - pretty small - had many people guessing. A well known herb which will feature in tomorrow's roast duck.
Grevillia - the noisy miner bird loves this
Did put on a few bets on the horses - only cost me the standard $10 entry fee. The one quinella I did win did not pay much. 3 heavy to soft tracks never help.
Ended the day on a calm evening with a fire going in the fire pit. A good weekend kind of day for life to settle down. My wife has had a tough week.
