I feel pretty choked up after reading this piece. To share this must bring up feelings lodged within.
I realize that I was extremely fortunate to be raised by a widowed father that did not approve of any medical intervention. I literally never went to a family doctor. I was a miserable depressed kid but at least not medicated and was treated lovingly and respectfully as any child deserves.
I've seen many children and adults that have been damaged. Of course no one thinks it's anything short of just being born that way.
I wish you a future that completely redeems the early years and compensates largely.
