It is crazy how so many see their doctors as though they are messiahs and hand their responsibilities to them.

I am so happy you saw this part that I really wanted to show. There is almost this faith that doctors can do no wrong. And "god" gave the doctor the power to help the body. It makes healthcare a religious experience instead of true science.

What I really wanted to do was show how "a pill for every ill" could go really bad, and how this plays into our society.

You see, even though this is based on my story -- I've been thinking of heavily fictionalizing it. To the point where the girl gets hooked on the pill "that the doctor prescribes" and ends up dying from an overdose (opiate). To me, I feel like there is just more I can do to really bolster up this point.
