Ooh, I found this too late to upvote.
I've been praying a daily Rosary since 1999. Sometimes I'd give up and take some time off from it, but no matter how many doubts I have, I continue to pray it on behalf of others who believe. It's been said the prayers of doubters carry a lot of weight (efficacy?). I remember when JPII introduced the new Mysteries - and though I've always questioned Biblical accounts of the Transfiguration, I embrace the idea behind it, at least. And I often sing that church hymn "Transfigure us, oh Lord" in between decades.

First Mystery of Light: Baptism in the Jordan
As Jesus is Baptized in the River by John the Baptist, as a voice cries to us from the heavens: “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased!”

The Second Mystery of Light: The Wedding Feast at Cana
Mother Mary nudges her Son, urging him to jump-start his career. He's 30, after all.
When they had run out of wine at a wedding, she urged him to turn water into wine.
Woman, what has this to do with me? (Is that only in the KJV?)
Let's hear it for moms - and for the sons, with whom they (and God) are well pleased.

Third Mystery of Light: Proclamation of the Kingdom of God
Jesus called the crowds to conversion, proclaiming that the Kingdom of God is at hand.
(This one does not move me the way Descent of the Holy Spirit, #3 of the Glorious Mysteries, does)

Fourth Mystery of Light: Transfiguration
Jesus led Peter, James and John with him to the top of the mountain where he was transfigured in light, and his garments shown whiter than snow. Moses and Elija were illuminated along with him. So why do we not find these two in the pantheon of saints? They had more than the requisite two miracles. And why did Jesus tell the boys to keep this thing quiet? Why was this spectacle shown only to a chosen few? So many questions....

Fifth Mystery of Light: Institution of the Eucharist
On the night before he suffered, he took bread, blessed it, broke it, gave it to his disciples, and said, Take this, all of you, and eat it. This is my body. When supper was ended he took a cup filled with wine, gave it to them, and said, Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the cup of my blood.

For me, it's all about "All are welcome" to this feast. But only Catholics may receive Holy Communion, and they are warned NOT to receive from Protestant-blessed wine and bread, as these are NOT the blood and body of Christ.

Transubstantiation...

If it were so, why are the gluten-intolerant unable to receive without getting a gluten hangover?
Our priest vigorously shook his head at me when I asked. No, no, you can't look at it that way.

Well, I did, and I still do. I had trouble enough with willing suspension of disbelief since joining the church in 1988....

That kinda sealed the deal.
I've been gathering remnants, crumbs, leftover beliefs, trying to share the convictions of all those around me in church, and I do the "be still and know that I am God" thing, finding quiet time in nature to pray and allow God's voice to be heard, but no....

I love the image of Pope John Paul walking while praying the Rosary.
