I love your spirit and independence, Kaelci!
Sharing - being involved in the process - yes.
WB's objection is that one should not *publish a rough draft.
And I didn't mean to suggest they were "coming down on" freewritehouse.
Just, not associating with this community. A quiet shunning.
And I understand their objections to publishing rough stuff.
the blockchain is forever....
....You remember Lady Graves???
The Napoleon era, the nations changing their borders, the doctors who were arrested and imprisoned for treating enemy soldiers. Accused of treason for saving lives. Only the uniform tells a medic doing triage who's who. And who'd leave a wounded soldier to die when you're trained to heal the injured?
Of course I didn't bring that stuff to life word by word, page by page.
I didn't even finish the next year's March madness, in which one of two sisters has gone missing.
Unlike Julie, my sister, Jenny would find her way home - like the real life girl in the news story, who escaped her captor, and a woman walking her dog encountered this bedraggled teenager on the sidewalk, pleading for help. The guy went to prison. I always wonder how this teenage girl is adjusting, now that she's home again. Whenever a girl goes missing, "She'll never come home alive" is the usual verdict.
Maybe I just need to write novellas, or long short stories.
Even just READING a novel can be too much of a time commitment.
Historical fiction can be really freighted with dates, names, details.
sorry
You really don't need to slog through a long reply like this one!
THANK YOU for reading and commenting. :)
