For me too, the second stanza stood out - give them the best!
Gifts to the fairies (sp) - what a lovely concept!
And is it just to keep them from doing mischief, or will the gifts build connections and a kinship (nature, harmony, all that), and is it just that being nice is the way to be, or do the fairies in turn gift this family with special favors... beyond the morning dew glistening in the sun ... something.... special. Hmmm. You raise so many images and ideas with so few words - poets rock!!!
