My sister is not doing well. She had two chemo treatments, but now it's Week #6 in a row of no chemo as her white cell count is too low. Infection - a compromised liver - sores in her mouth - "the pain is unreal," she says, and she cannot eat, drink, or talk. She refuses to hear anything that doesn't come from her small-town oncologist in Germany and will not even get a second opinion. What more can I do... Mayo studies show that fasting (water only) at least one day before chemo would help, but she said nope.... this is a woman who never went to the doctor, did not get mammograms or a colonoscopy at 50 or even 60, but now, at 62, she's surrending to the judgment of the medical establishment she had avoided. I am sad, sorry I cannot do anything, frustrated, yet hoping for some kind of miracle. Remission, at the very least...?
