I'm about to start watching the video - thanks for the link! First I searched online for him, and first "hit" was a question at Reddit. NINE years ago, and to this day, ZERO replies. Whassup with that:

Has Mellen-Thomas Benedict been debunked yet? (x-post /r/askscience)
I didn't get much feedback on r/askscience but hopefully somebody has some information here.

Is there a consensus in the scientific community concerning his near-death experience claims? I spontaneously get a fraud vibe from him, claiming that he brought back new scientifically relevant information from his "trip" and making a lot of money off of it... I did a quick search on google scholar and pubmed and he has not published any relevant literature nor is he mentioned (from what I could find)

A girl in my psychology class brought him up as an example to go along with her believes in an afterlife. I had never heard of the guy

Thank you guys in advance.

Ok, now to listen, and see if I get "fraud" vibes.... and if he's raking in money with this story, what's he doing with the money.....
