Thank you so much for the photos and info on how to identify these bees! I've seen lots of bumblebee lookalikes and now I have a clue: Carpenter bees abdomens are glossy looking because there isn't any hair, unlike the bumble bees who do have hair on their abdomens. Now to read the rest of the series - I'm sorry I didn't find this until today! @agmoore resteemed it and that's where I first saw it. :) #Resteems matter!
