So many points here to address, I may not even attempt to cover them all.

I've thought of it as radio waves and our minds needing to be tuned to the right frequency, like a radio station, to receive the incoming message from the Muse. Or "The Other Side," the messenger from beyond the veil between the real and the ideal... not to wax Plantonic... I tend toward realism, the concrete, the scientific, thought I gravitate to things mystical.
