RE: Bear On The Porch, a freewrite
Singing is the answer to everything - love it! I was concerned. Shooting a bear. (With a bow and arrow??) At close range. Of course, this is @owasco. Nothing expected or dreaded will happen - only surprises!

RE: Coping With the Loss of a Parent
Ohhh yes. A continent away, an ocean between us... Been There. Death so often comes in threes. Surely, someone could prove this isn't so. Statistically. Anecdotally, though, everyone I know will lose two

A clogged artery ... oh no... meds, but no stent? (What a mystery - you elude diagnosis! How frustrating that is. It took me 20 years of malpractice and miserable, expensive "treatments" before

Falling, but no dizziness (vertigo) - just a "funny feeling" after you look up? I still have the falling problem and when I look up I get the funny feeling that I get right before I fall I wonder

RE: 5 minute freewrite Thursday prompt catch that thing
"Catch that thing" sounds like a perfect prompt for the freewriter whose livelihood is fishing. Aka "The woman who works at the fish house' - love it! Then you reel us in with a surprise:

The photos. The words! When we let corruption go on; when we stop fighting those bigger than we are; when we put up and shut - When you open the box of despair, all demons are freed and you'll have

RE: Coping With the Loss of a Parent
You nailed it. They are the pillars of our lives, our guiding lights, and our constants. The first stage of grief often brings shock, disbelief, and a sense of being adrift in an unfamiliar world. And,

RE: The Case of the Too-Small Mouth, a freewrite
Having just read the "I'm not gonna catch it" freewrite, I'm struck by your talent for expressing a theme of nonconformity in so many ways and in so few words. #WordEconomy is the goal of fiction

Ohhh, sad, ohh, how beautifully you capture the sense of shock and loss, the "carry on" with that weight of grief all the days of our lives. Oh, the thwarted surprise! This is one reason life

What she said - how well you capture the teen angst, and the strange, small details one might fixate on, because the big picture is too hard to handle. This teenager takes it all in, and we feel her pain,

Oh, you are doing a great thing, posting these stories as they come! I was only explaining that for me it's hard to follow, but serializing as-we-write is a trend. The image of the pink flower, I thought,

We haven't heard from you for some time, Aisling. I hope all is well. This poem is a keeper. My mom's cousin was on my mind, a WWII vet, Purple Heart, and this is very timely. Yes, a month later, I came
