As you read in the title, I celebrated my birthday yesterday, October 4th. And I have to admit that I have been experiencing mixed emotions. This was my first birthday away from my homeland. However, the company I had was very special. Most of us were Venezuelans from Cumaná. Some Peruvian friends also came, and we shared a lovely time together, although they had to leave early.
My daughter decorated everything and made me two cakes: a Tres Leches cake, my favorite, and a passion fruit cake. Both were delicious. She chose a colorful theme for the celebration, while most of the guests showed up wearing black 😂.
They sang “Happy Birthday” to me in the Christian version and then the traditional one, and I was very moved. Just when we thought it was time to eat the cake, the pizzas arrived! So it wasn't just snacks; we also had dinner, laughter, and lots of stories to share.
After seven years, I was finally able to celebrate this special day with my daughter. And although it brought me so much joy, my heart is divided. One of my sons is in Brazil and the other is in Venezuela.
My greatest wish is for us to reunite one day in a free and prosperous Venezuela.

Sí, como leyeron en el título, cumplí años ayer, 04 de octubre. Y debo confesar que he tenido emociones encontradas. Es mi primer cumpleaños fuera de mi tierra. Sin embargo, la compañía que tuve fue bastante especial. La mayoría éramos venezolanos y de Cumaná. También vinieron unos amigos peruanos, con quienes compartimos un rato muy agradable, aunque tuvieron que retirarse temprano.
Mi hija decoró todo y me hizo dos tortas: una de Tres Leches, mi favorita, y la otra de maracuyá. Ambas estaban deliciosas. Ella hizo la temática con colores y la mayoría de la gente vino vestida de negro 😂.
Me cantaron el Feliz Cumpleaños cristiano y el tradicional, y estuve muy conmovida. Cuando pensamos que ya íbamos a comer torta, llegaron las pizzas. Así que no solo hubo piqueos, sino también cena, risas y muchas historias para compartir.
Después de 7 años, pude compartir este día con mi hija. Y aunque me dio mucha ilusión, mi corazón está dividido: uno de mis hijos está en Brasil y el otro en Venezuela.
Mi mayor deseo es que podamos reencontrarnos algún día en una Venezuela libre y próspera.
