Mark 11: 23-24
Truly, I tell you, whoever tells this mountain: Take off and lie on the sea, and I will not doubt in your heart, but believe that what he says will be done, what he says will be done. Therefore, I tell you that whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you will receive it and that it will come to you.
I like this biblical passage, because the security of success in our lives is precisely in prayer.
If you and I are going to be ourselves and succeed in life, we must know how to pray and be willing to give prayer a priority place in our lives.
Each failure is essentially a prayer failure.
If we don't pray, the best thing that can happen is nothing, so all things remain as they are, which is scary. We all need changes, and the way to get them is prayer.
It is not worth praying if we do not have confidence (faith) in prayer.
I believe that many people are not happy with their prayer life, and much of their lack of satisfaction is due to lack of confidence in themselves and in their prayer. Many Christians today have questions about their prayer life and are frustrated with it. Even those who pray regularly testify that they are frustrated because they feel something is missing; They are not sure if they are doing well.
I can identify with this situation, because I felt that way for many years. I was committed to praying every morning, but at the end of the prayer time, I always had a vague feeling of frustration. Finally I asked the Lord what my problem was, and he answered me in my heart, saying: "Carlis, you feel that your prayers are not good." It was that old damnation problem again.
I didn't enjoy prayer because I didn't trust my prayers to be acceptable. What if they were imperfect?
God had to teach me some lessons about prayer by faith, about the fact that the Holy Spirit helped me in prayer, and he had to remind me that Jesus intercedes for me (Romans 8:26; Hebrews 7:25). If two of the people of the Trinity were helping me, surely my imperfect prayers would be perfected the moment they reached the throne of God the Father. This knowledge relieved a lot of pressure, but I had to develop confidence in simple prayer with faith.
