A couple of days ago I had talked about the building not too far away from mine and how loud they were during one of their prayer sessions. It feels almost as if someone in my building had read my blog (although I highly doubt that), because two days later, my neighbors had decided that it was a good idea to hold a seven-day midnight prayer in the building, and they had invited everyone who cared to join.
Last night was day two of that prayer, and a lot of the boys turned up for it, even the guys who had ladies waiting for them in their rooms, ladies they obviously couldn't wait to pounce on the moment they were done with the prayer, and that got me thinking for a bit.
You see, I always find it strange whenever I see people who obviously are very active sinners (I couldn't think of a better word to use), pray like their life depends on it, only for them to go right back to their sinning ways immediately after the prayer.
Every time I see something like that, I keep asking myself if something like that would sit well with God, because does he just ignore all your sins and answer your prayers while knowing that you haven't fully repented and have intentions to go back to committing those same sins right after you're done praying to him?
Personally, I always feel people who do that are wasting their time because unless they choose to change their ways, then surely all of their prayers are a waste. But with more people I see doing that, I find myself slowly coming to their realization that maybe I might be wrong. Possibly God does answer the prayers of everyone regardless of if you were a sinner or not.
Perhaps what matters to him is what you do at the moment. He, after all, does work in mysterious ways.
