Tigaw is the Cebuano term of the Malabar Hoary,a shrub that grows abundatly on vacant lots and thickets all over the archipelago.
The shrub has a purplish or lavender flower,the leaves are oval in shape and bears a green round small fruit that turns lavender when ripened.
In fishponds Tigau Leaves are pounded to paralyzed fish and its fruits are used to poisoned chickens.
