I enjoy learning about the usefullness of plants that other people think are weeds. One usefull plant is Duckweed. I read that some people in Asia eat the plant because it is more protein rich than soybeans. Another item that I learned about the usefullness of duckweed is that it purifies the water, but it also can block mosquitos from laying there eggs. Mosquitos like to lay ther eggs in stangnet water, and duckweed likes to float on top of stagnet water. hmm...
The "scientific" name of duckweed is Lemnoideae. If anyone has tasted this plant please tell me!
