Three Tune Tuesday is a cool time to present the tunes that have been in your ears and in your mind. Ive already included many of my favorites but there is a band that i havent covered yet but was a favorite of mine years ago when i first started playing guitar. So much that i have a Dimebucker pickup installed on my Ibanez guitar. In honor of Dimebag Darrell which can be considered on of the great, late legends of metal guitar.
Starting back in the 1980s, PANTERA started as a glam-metal band, but i dont care for that....Pantera. I care about the Pantera that created some of the legend songs that im about to list off here, so hope you have a moment to jam. If not, up to you of course.
This is a shorter version of the whole song but the video was meant to be an overview of the good parts of the song. Maybe meant to go with the video and be more viewer friendly instead of being the full song which is like 7 mins or so total. Its a song that most guitar fanatics have heard of. Dimebag Darrell, known for his love of smoking weed was seriously one of the most talented guitarists of all time. He played clean, loud, crunchy, slow, and fast. He was great live, and he was loved by his closest family and friends. He met a tragic end, when someone in the crowd at a show, shot him dead. What a sad world it is sometimes, but thats the way it goes.
For some reason i just love the whole vibe of this song. The solo is great, the slower guitar parts are interesting, and the crunchy parts are well.....crunchy. The singer is not my favorite by a stretch, hes ok. Dont mind the halfway decent vocals, skip to the solo if you want.
Could be considered their real big song that broke them out i to fame. The name of an album as well (very good album in general). Sweet opening riffs, i remember was a challenge to learn but they are do-able. The solo is sweet, quick, and spicy, vant say i ever learned the whole thing. Considering all of his solos (Dimebag) this one is not his toughest.
