Hi @cliffagreen, thank you for the kind welcome and for the answer! �� I love that the last image arrived by itself, at the very end of the first draft. Maybe that is why it feels so inevitable and not forced.

The grass as a third character is a lovely way to put it: the husband, the wife, and the grass that is always there, patient and silent, and in the end the only one who is not afraid. The "never child" napping in it makes it even more touching.

I wondered whether the poem was Whitman's *Leaves of Grass*. If so, the last line, "my legs are leaves of grass", is a wink to that title, and I like that the allusion came first and the image grew out of it.

Good stories do not expire after seven days. I am still finding my way around Hive, so thank you for the encouragement, and I will keep reading and commenting! 🌱

Ciao @cliffagreen, grazie per il benvenuto e per la risposta! �� Mi piace che l'ultima immagine sia arrivata da sola, proprio alla fine della prima bozza. Forse è per questo che sembra così inevitabile e non forzata.

L'erba come terzo personaggio è un modo bellissimo di dirlo: il marito, la moglie e l'erba che è sempre lì, paziente e silenziosa, e alla fine l'unica a non avere paura. La "bambina mai nata" che dorme lì in mezzo la rende ancora più toccante.

Mi chiedevo se la poesia fosse *Leaves of Grass* di Whitman. Se è così, l'ultima frase, "le mie gambe sono foglie d'erba", è un occhiolino a quel titolo, e mi piace che l'allusione sia venuta prima e l'immagine ne sia nata dopo.

Le belle storie non scadono dopo sette giorni. Sto ancora imparando a muovermi su Hive, quindi grazie dell'incoraggiamento: continuerò a leggere e a commentare! 🌱
