📄🐔👣 Paperwork Day: My Hens Probably Walked More Than I Did!
Not every day is made of mountains and sunsets. Today was the other kind of day: the one where the most intense workout was for my index finger. 😅 Let me tell you all about it! 👇
🗂️ Today's mission: bureaucracy
Today was an administrative day through and through: forms, emails, documents to check, papers to fill in and, of course, more papers to fill in after the first ones. 📑 The farmhouse doesn't run on fresh air and good intentions alone, and behind every nice meadow there's a folder full of forms that somebody has to deal with.
My daily route? Desk, coffee, desk, coffee, desk. ☕ A real endurance sport: it doesn't burn many calories, but it does burn a fair amount of patience! 🙃
🐔 Meanwhile, the hens were living their best life
While I was sitting still, our six hens were on a totally different training plan. They scratched, wandered, explored every corner of the yard, ran to check out anything that looked even slightly edible and then walked back to do it all over again. 🌾
I haven't checked the numbers, but I'm pretty sure that if hens could wear an Actifit tracker, they would have beaten my step count by a mile. 🏆 Six hens against one farmer: honestly, it wasn't even a fair match.
Hens, if you're reading this: you win today. I'll ask for a rematch tomorrow. 😄
🌅 Tomorrow: back on my feet
The nice thing about paperwork is that sooner or later it comes to an end (I hope!). Tomorrow I'm planning to get out of the office and back to work in the fields, and if possible I'll try to catch up on all the steps I missed today. The new mobile coop is waiting for us, too. 💪
