Hello Splinterlands and Hive community!
Silver First Quest30.png
Back again with another weekly social media challenge. I've been pretty busy with my work lately and been slacking off regarding my posting and splinterlands grind, maybe I should make a challenge to get myself motivated! Anyways, the were lots of controversy about the latest Legendary Summoner Airdrop on the Water team: Possibilus The Wise. In this post, I'll be pointing some interesting situations and potential synergies.

Abilities

Water was previously all about Alric and the magic team. Since the launch of Chaos Legion expansion, the meta has shifted to Kelya + high speed Melee comp, and this time, same as every legendary summoner airdrop, Possibilus the Wise gives every monster in the team 3 Melee alt focused Abilities buffs:

  • Trample alt

When a monster with Trample hits and kills its target, it will perform another attack on the next monster on the enemy team.

... And another one! one kill = one extra attack! you love to see it

  • Reach alt

Monsters with melee attack and have the Reach ability, can attack from the second position on the team.

This ability is perfect for placing a heavy damage melee monster on the second position away from direct attacks!

  • +2 Health alt

it might seem irrelevant compared to the previous abilities but some battles are won due to 1 extra health. Additional health brings more heals as an example: Sea Monster heals for +2 with 8 health but for +3 with 10 health!

Best Monsters

We'll be considering a battle with unlimited Mana (99) in the Wild Edition and this will be as follow:

The Kraken

kraken.png
One of the best and most expensive Tanks in the field. It's already OP on its own (except the main weakness against Magic damage) but the higher leveled it is, the better synergy it has with Possibilus:

  • Level 1 : Taunt alt: With Heavy Tankiness and all the redirected damage to it, the other team monsters will be safe for a least a couple of rounds
  • Level 3 : Enrage alt: Additional Melee damage = More chances to proc Trample for an extra attack
  • Level 4 : Retaliate alt: if retaliate kills enemy monster, it'll proc Trample! it gives Kraken the possibility to attack 4 times in a single round !

Goblin Mech

Not only it got decent tanky stats for more than 11 hit points up to a whopping 18 hit points (9 + 2 Health + 7 Armor) but also up to 6 damage alt and a decent speed!
But what makes it deadly is the Pierce alt ability
This is where Possibilus Abilities comes in handy:
Place it on the 2nd position Reach and watch it pierce through enemy armor like butter, in the most likely scenario it gets the kill, Trample will move to the next target and blow away both his armor and health!

Opportunity alt: Deeplurker & Feasting Seaweed

alt alt

We have a couple of monsters that will target the weakest monsters alt and you give these monsters trample to attack the next target, even camouflage alt monsters like Dr Blight won't be safe from the Trample ability!

DeepLurker base stats are great despite being a common rarity:

  • Decent tankiness with 6+2 health + 3-4 speed depending on the level
  • 5 Melee Damage alt
  • Poison alt offers a great synergy with Opportunity (but doesn't trigger Trample)
  • IF only it got Pierce, Possibilus will make DeepLurker feels like a Legendary!

Feasting Seaweed is not as popular but with the additional Health from possibilus and the scavenger ability, it can have 10 health when comes his turn at the 3rd/4th position

Merdaali Guardian

for support reasons:

  • Tank heal alt by healing Kraken for 5 health each turn (14 + 2 from possibilus + 1 Strenghten on level 8 = 17 Health)
  • Repair alt: Armor altis crucial to absorp/nullify heavy melee attack!

River hellondale

alt

Although he won't benefit from Possibilus buffs (except the +2 health), a level 2 Hellondale will be enough to bring the most out of the melee monsters:

  • Ressurect alt: Kraken is already too hard to kill, make their suffering worst as they have to take it down TWICE
  • Inspire alt: a melee heavy comp: give it +1 melee damage and they will be more than happy!

Honorable mention: Coeurl Lurker

alt

The most popular card on the Riftwatchers Edition, the most evasive Taunt (Dodge + Phasealt) and Ruthless attacker ( 4 Melee damage + 4 Speed alt), no one wants to go against this monster and hardly you can inflict harm to lurker especially low speed magic damage dealers (the main Kraken weakness)

An example of a Battle

This is a battle at the high Silver Level between #loeszaitsev who posted the battle link on Splinterlands discord playing Possibilus and #Terd-rawr-molf playing the Fire Team
abbb.PNG
Battle Link

The Fire composition is clearly higher leveled then Possibilus team but Deeplurker was MVP with +2 alt Melee damage buffs from both River Hellondale and Demented Shark Inspire alt!

  • On the first round it took down both Flame Monkey and Ash Mirage alt
  • On the 2nd round, after taking down Scavo Firebolt, Trample alt did trigger to target the next target who had camouflage Countessa Sinash
  • On the 3rd round, it took down Grum but Last stand was too powerful and Tanky and put a stop to Deeplurker rampaging trample!

Conclusion

Thanks a lot for reading till now, it was a ton a fun looking for the best synergies for possibilus and lurking to different battles looking for the best battles and potential picks for this summoner!
Hopefully next time I'll bring out My battles with possibilus and hopefully they will be some exciting ones!
