The real reason that cannabs can disrupt social, and family is due to the fact it is illeagal, which is a shame. If someone wants to smoke a joint after a longs day of work it is considered wrong. But if that person wants to drink a beer, it is encouraged.

Also I knew someone here from ACEH who was a coffee farmer. HIs family used cannabis as a pesticed for his crop, and have used this for generations. But due to the War on Drugs they can no longer use this wonderfull alteritive, but I am sure they are more then welcome to use harmfull products from big Pharma, SMH
