When she blinks her eyes huff out words.
Things like it is cold. Why doesn't he let
the fires consume us?
For a moment she reflects on why fires
won't consume her body. She smiles
at the thought of flames, meteorites,
and moonshine.
Click, click
She wants the crackle to burn against wood,
against bone, for everything to become charcoal.
She asks, "Would it be okay to go indoors?"
He says, "Yes, let's go."
Inside wood is crackling in a chimney.
She is warm in all the right places
so she looks at him.
Click, click
She glances out the window.
The fire inside of her is melting
away avalanches.
She walks up behind him and slowly
takes off her blue dress. Her nipples
perk from chill. She places her hands
on top of his.
He tightly holds onto the camera.
His eyes don't look away as his lens
focuses in on her breast.
She lets out a laugh
as she presses
his finger down.
