Hello to all fellow travelers, wherever you may be. As always, I hope you are all healthy and happy, allowing you to go about your daily activities smoothly and enjoy a wonderful day.

A few days ago, I traveled to the city of Banda Aceh. Along the way, I snapped a few random photos, but one particular highlight was an iconic monument I spotted by the roadside; it was shaped like an airplane. I believe this monument commemorates a significant part of Aceh's history—specifically, its role in contributing the first aircraft to Indonesia when the nation first gained its independence.

I happened to be at the Aneuk Galong intersection in the Sukamakmur (Montasik) district of Aceh Besar Regency when a particular monument caught my eye. Upon further research, I discovered that the monument was erected to honor Air Force Sergeant Major Maimun Saleh—the first fighter pilot from Aceh, who was born in this area—and was officially inaugurated on September 24, 2010.

Constructed in 2010 and topped with an Indonesian Air Force fighter jet, the monument stands on the left side of the Banda Aceh–Medan highway, approximately at the 14-kilometer mark before entering Banda Aceh city; I had passed by it while traveling to the city with friends during the holiday season a few months ago.

To me personally, this monument radiates a blend of modern aesthetics and iconic historical pride; furthermore, it stands as a bold, dynamic symbol featuring a striking contrast of colors.

Well, my friends, those are the images I wanted to share this time. I hope you enjoy them and find them entertaining. See you next time!
