I'm really trying to understand the philosophical and psychological thinking behind subjective downvoting, along with the mindset that one needs to do this habitually. I want to understand.

My opinion on downvotes has changed over the years. I'm now of the opinion..

"is there any need to downvote people based on your own ideological views? wouldn't a comment suffice? maybe you'll learn something about yourself?"

(obviously there are plagiarists and abusers who will continue without any solid action being taken, but there are other alternatives there for tackling this on the tribe level, as far as I know)

In the early stages of POB I made some DV's.

vempromundo@vempromundo and trumpman@trumpman were on the receiving end of these. I don't really see the value that they brought. I commented on their posts, (vempromundo's, trumpman's), and I actually removed my DV on trumpmans post after I realised I'd went in half-cocked (and was aptly called a snowflake, lol).

So yeah, I'm not saying I've not made some subjective downvotes in the past. Just trying to understand why.

Anyway, let's see how I feel after I downvote my own work because of reasons such as..

1. being over-rewarded
2. straight-up tasteless
3. not funny
4. i don't like him
5. it attacks my delicate understanding of life

Please assist me with downvote's if you agree with the above reasons, I have to learn somehow.

Here is my previous post which I've already showered with DV love. Foolish people, upvoting things they like and expecting a consistent 50% curation reward... amateurs. All you supporters who follow my posts regularly and have setup autovotes, tough titties. This is important work.

I'll be making sure to DV all my questionable comments too. Remember the goal is to understand the unrelenting force behind this behaviour, so no stone should be left unturned. Otherwise it ain't gonna be a valuable learning experience.

peace and love?

thanks go out to hranhuk@hranhuk. his post helped with the inspiration for this.
